Getting Started with Life Events

Life Events (also known as “Church Life Events”) mark milestones in a person’s life. This can include baptisms, communion, membership, course completion, criminal record check expiry, and more.

Add and Edit Life Events #

Go to Admin, then scroll down to the Contact Settings section.

• Select Life Event Categories to manage event categories.
• Select Life Event to manage individual life events.

Expiring Life Events #

Available with the Child Protection module.

When Child Protection is enabled, you can also add expiry dates to track events such as when criminal record checks need to be renewed, including the ability to send an email reminder when the event is about to expire.

View a Contact’s Life Events #

1. Go to the contact record for the desired contact.
2. Select Life Events in the contact card, or scroll down to the Life Events section.
3. You will see a list of life events. Select Details to open a life event.
4. From the Life Event Details panel, you can add notes and other information related to the life event.

Add a Life Event #

1. Go to the Life Events section of a contact’s record.
2. Select Add New Event.
3. Select an event category, then a date.
4. Fill in the additional information as needed.

Add to Multiple Contacts #

When a life event applies to multiple people on the same date, such as baptisms, use the Bulk Add Life Events tool.

1. Go to Contacts > Bulk Add Life Events.
2. Select the life event to add, then Continue.
3. Enter the default values for the life event, then Continue.
   • These will apply to each contact by default.
   • You will have an opportunity to change the details for specific contacts later.
4. Search for and select the contacts you would like to add the life event to, then Continue.
   • Duplicate life events are supported. If a life event has already been added to a contact, you will see the Has Life Event badge.
5. If desired, edit the life event details for each contact.
6. When finished, select Save Life Events.
