Creating a Home Page

The first thing people see when visiting a website is the main default webpage. This is called the home page. Because of its importance, special care should be taken to design it well.

Working with the Home Page Editor #

To access the home page, go to Content > Home Page.

On this page are several design modules called blocks. The content in these blocks can be edited, moved, or removed. This flexibility allows for the creation of different looks for the webpages.

How to Edit Content in a Block #

Select the block containing content you would like to edit. This will bring you to a content editor very similar to a word document that allows you to edit text and images.

How to Move a Block #

Each block has a pair of arrows on the left side. Select the arrow and drag the block to a new position.

Add a Module/Layout Block #

To add a block to your home page, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Add New Block”.

Delete a Block #

To delete a block, select the block “Edit”. At the top right-hand corner select “Delete”. Please note that this action cannot be undone. If you delete a block, you will also delete the content in that block.

Hide a Slideshow Module #

The slideshow module is unique. It cannot be deleted. However, you can hide it so that it won’t be visible on your home page. To do this, go to the top left-hand corner of the slideshow module, and select the switch labeled “Show Slideshow”. The slideshow is now hidden from view.

Sidebar #

A sidebar of content is very useful. You can include calendar events, church podcast items, and even blog posts.

To add content to a sidebar, click “Add Section”. Select or deselect the items you want included in the sidebar. The sidebar can be moved to the right side of the page, the left side, or even moved to the bottom.

Social Media Links #

To add or update a Social Media link to the home page, select the plus sign beside the social media icons at the top. Enter a link in the box. Select “Done”.

To remove a Social Media link from the home page, delete the link from the box and save it as empty.

The following social media links are available. Up to 4 can be enabled at one time; contact Sunergo Support to change which links you would like.
