Working with Images
Before an image can be used on a web page, it must be uploaded to the image catalogue. Be sure it is the recommended size for the particular framework design being used.
A note about Alt Text
Alt text provides those with visual impairment a way to view and interact with your website’s content and imagery. Helpful alt text is short and describes the image and the context in the image. Learn how to write good alt text for images in this article.
Uploading Images
- From the Website Builder menu, go to Media > Image Catalogue.
- Select “Add New Image”.
- Choose an image file to be uploaded or drag and drop it into the highlighted box.
- Enter a name for the image.
- Enter an “Alt Text” that describes what’s inside the image.
- Choose an image category to help organize the files.
- Select “Save New Image”.
The filter bar in the image catalogue can be used to search for images by category and/or name.
Before deleting an image from the catalogue, ensure it is not currently being used on a page.
Uploading Banner Images
Banners are special images used in page headers.
- From the Website Builder menu, go to Content > Banners.
- Select “Add New Banner”.
- Enter a name for the image.
- Enter an “Alt Text” that describes what’s inside the image.
- Choose an image file to be uploaded or drag and drop it into the highlighted box.
- Select “Save”.
Inserting Images into a Page
- While in the editor, select the image catalogue icon in the toolbar.
- Select “Choose” on an image.
- In the editor, the image can be resized and repositioned.
- Select “Save Page”.
To add a banner, select on the page banner box beside the editor. Select on “Choose Image” and choose an image to use.
